Daring and Glam D&G Spring 08 collection

Milan is abuzz with the fashionistas. And what better place for the preview of the Spring 08 Collection of the Hip D&G collection.

Tiers of ruffles with glittering beading trimmed a patio dress, while a short dress with sparkling ruffles was worn with a camp shirt, belted for a safari look.

A metallic brocade croc top was worn with a denim short, while bell-bottom denim played back to a metallic croc jacket and a sleeveless fur topped the same metallic croc in a short short. Gold brocade played with denim and chambray reinvigorated the idea of denim!

Pink and blue were woven into gold lace in a dress. Pink and gold brocade worn with a gladiator sandal was ready to hit the street.

Denim and shades of blue in a jacket, top, and short created a new summer set. A wide-leg jean with a vest had a '70s air. The '70s was certainly on someone's mind when they created the patchwork denim dress topped with an ikat cardigan and the patchwork bell-bottoms.

A garden of flowers and flounces bloomed on short and long patio dresses, both with a waist and flowing without.

A shrunken leather jacket topped a short flounce dress of patchwork floral and animal print. Nude silk hemmed in yellow ruffles and gladiator sandals looked right for the spring ahead. Way cool!

A little boudoir glamour came by way of nude chiffon trimmmed in yellow and fuchsia ruffles short and to the floor.

Daring and Glam the new D&G collection for your hipster moments!

Luxurious Evening Bags By Aksuona

The quest for the ‘perfect’ handbag, which is of course every woman’s favourite accessory, is never-ending. After all, a handbag defines a woman’s personal style and individuality. It was this quest that gave birth to Aksuona Brand.

Aksuona is a British label created in May 2007 by Natasha Anouska Kapur – owner, designer, and true handbag aficionado! Natasha’s desire for something more exciting and unique than mass produced handbags saw her begin designing and creating her own collection of handbags. Her vision was that of artfully handcrafted evening bags that were both simple and stylish, complemented with a touch of vintage glamour. Aksuona represents the marriage of the quality and sophistication one would expect of a designer label, with a uniqueness and inspiration that creates true individual style. The result...affordable luxury...a range of bags perfectly suited for the modern fashionista with an eye for the most exact attention to detail.

Seductive materials sourced from all over the world; hand-woven leathers, raw silks, chic printed linings and Swarovski crystal embellishments are examples of what you will find in an Aksuona Handbag. Each handbag is created by the most highly skilled craftsmen and special attention is paid to the intricate hand-finished details using traditional Indian techniques.

Aksuona handbags can already be found in many boutiques and can be bought online here at Farfallina.net

For the Love of God...Alexander McQueen

The backdrop of the AlexanderMcQueen show—a steel structure embedded with fluorescent tubes spread across the back of the stage and ceiling like wings of a bird. An aluminum runway stretched out from front to back. Piano music played. Right before the models came down the runway, revving motors and the sound of galloping horses filled the auditorium.

Glen plaid shot with red was fashioned as a pleated skirt and a shapely cropped jacket that spoke to McQueen's Savile Row training. A perfectly shaped glen plaid suit with strong shoulders has me wanting shoulder pads now, as did McQueen's precisely cut glen plaid princess coat.

A silk caftan-cut dress ran from red to gray in an ombré that has been appearing on the runways since NY. A simple shift was given the Isabella treatment with a Philip Treacy hat of swarms of red butterflies. A very McQueen suit in gray and pink python was modern chic!

Feather your nest in floaty dresses in multicolored feather prints! Indulge in your fine-feathered friends in a shaped dress of pink and black quills. A defining moment in blush and gray tulle got the cinch with patent corsets at the waist.

Demure and to the knee, black sequins, hot pink, and black satin were on draped dresses that got into the sister act and were worn with fencing masks. Hot pink appeared throughout the show as the base to dresses decorated with black bugle beads and in a shaped python jacket.

A great fashion collection in tribute to a fashion great. We "Heart" McQueen!
