For the Love of God...Alexander McQueen

The backdrop of the AlexanderMcQueen show—a steel structure embedded with fluorescent tubes spread across the back of the stage and ceiling like wings of a bird. An aluminum runway stretched out from front to back. Piano music played. Right before the models came down the runway, revving motors and the sound of galloping horses filled the auditorium.

Glen plaid shot with red was fashioned as a pleated skirt and a shapely cropped jacket that spoke to McQueen's Savile Row training. A perfectly shaped glen plaid suit with strong shoulders has me wanting shoulder pads now, as did McQueen's precisely cut glen plaid princess coat.

A silk caftan-cut dress ran from red to gray in an ombré that has been appearing on the runways since NY. A simple shift was given the Isabella treatment with a Philip Treacy hat of swarms of red butterflies. A very McQueen suit in gray and pink python was modern chic!

Feather your nest in floaty dresses in multicolored feather prints! Indulge in your fine-feathered friends in a shaped dress of pink and black quills. A defining moment in blush and gray tulle got the cinch with patent corsets at the waist.

Demure and to the knee, black sequins, hot pink, and black satin were on draped dresses that got into the sister act and were worn with fencing masks. Hot pink appeared throughout the show as the base to dresses decorated with black bugle beads and in a shaped python jacket.

A great fashion collection in tribute to a fashion great. We "Heart" McQueen!
